Clinching - fastener-less assembly with zero carbon burden

Boosters, as they are popularly known, are air-over-oil pressure intensifiers having the following common

Key features

  • Input from a standard source of dry and clean compressed air at 6 bar, 87 psi, through a supply line of at least 13 mm, 1/2", diameter
  • Universally applicable without concern about voltage or frequency
  • Output on the high pressure oil side amplified by a factor of 60x, i.e. to 360 bar, 5,200 psi
  • Pneumatic cycle control without delicate electronics, insensitive to intense electro-magnetic fields or strong motor currents
  • Suspension arch for safe and simple hanging of the booster
  • A variety of oil capacity to match the requirements of clinching and stitchfolding workheads

Additional functions are ensured through add-on boxes containing logical valve packages.

The Power, Mega and Kombi lines are driven by an S 16 60 booster to which a D-box has been added, shown to the left on the photo.

Additionally a return speed regulator shown on the hydraulic line at the outlet of the booster ensures perfect working of the unit.

Optionally, an O-box, shown to the right on the photo, renders the unit totally independent on how the trigger or foot pedal is activated and released and ensures a totally uniform clinching result at the shortest possible cycle time. The O-box can be fitted to double-stroke as well as single-stroke boosters. This option can easily be retrofitted in the field to existing boosters without this functionality.

This is particularly interesting, as the training time for unskilled operators is virtually zero.
