Heavy-duty clinching tools are particularly sturdy workhorses designed to work at high rate, day after day, year after year. It is not uncommon to find perfectly working units that have clocked up 10 million clinch points or more.
Both the fixed C-frame Power line and Viper line and the articulated Mega line have the following common
Closed oil circuit to eliminate the risks for oil spills
Extreme performance/weight ratio
Handle with safety trigger
Hydraulic hose package with robust protection against wear and tear
Air-over-oil booster to be connected to a source of clean and dry compressed air at 6 bar, 87 psi
Complete logic valve package for clinching cycle control without operator involvement
Unique qualities
Particularly interesting is the universal rectangular tool kit geometry which can handle total thickness from below 0.75 mm, 0.030", to 4 mm, 0.160", without any changes, a possibility only offered by ATTEXOR Tools and ATTEXOR, Inc.
Workhead weight
Power and Viper:
3.9 kg, 8 lbs
Mega:
from 12 kg, 25 lbs to 25 kg, 54 lbs
Cycle time
1.2-1.5 seconds below 1 second with HSB, High Speed Booster, option
The Power line features an exceptional performance/weight ratio and finds applications in particular where outside lips are accessible or lateral entry/exit is a possibility.
The special geometry of the piston carrying the punch allows close-to-wall clinching, putting the clinch point axis at a mere 6 mm, 1/4", from the wall.
A wide selection of tool kits is available, including the universal rectangular tool kit geometry mentioned in the left-hand column, see Documentation library for details.
The Viper line has similar characteristics as the Power line, but features a particularly short nose. The Viper line includes models using the double-stroke technology as well as models using single-stroke technology.
The Viper line is primarily designed for using rectangular tool kits.
The Mega line features articulated clinching units to be used handheld, hung on a three-axis gyroscopic suspension, pillar or bench mounted or robot-held.
The automated opening/closing mechanism, operated comfortably from a second trigger on the handle, allows production volumes of the order of 5,000-7,000 clinch points per 8-hour shift, or 1-1.3 million joints per year.
A rich selection of tool kits, including the unique universal rectangular tool kit described in the left-hand column, is available, see Documentation library for details.
